How often do you feel like you're running on a treadmill, constantly 'doing' but never quite getting what you want?   Or, maybe you have been trying to MANIFEST something in your life, but it just isn't happening.   The core issue here could be that you aren't OPEN to receiving what you're asking for and we're going to fix that in this episode!

This episode is dedicated to shaking off that feeling of perpetual striving and embracing the art of receiving. We dive into the psychology of worthiness and how societal conditioning influences our ability to accept compliments, gifts, or the abundant blessings the universe has to offer. Recognize the deep-seated programming that may make you resistant to 'receiving' and understand how to break free from it.

We take you on a journey, examining the crucial role of a calm nervous system in fostering an open mindset. You'll learn how to assess your openness to receive and understand what societal cues you've been subconsciously responding to. We explore how the people we surround ourselves with, our upbringing, and our current state of mind can act as barriers to receiving. Moreover, we delve into transformative tools like hypnosis and inner child work that can encourage a shift from the restrictive 'doing' mindset to a more expansive 'receiving' one.

So come, join us, and discover the joy and fulfillment that comes from learning to receive life's gifts with grace and gratitude.

Speaker 1:

So there's a lot of talk in the industries that we are in, these creative industries, about hustle culture and anti-hustle culture and unsubscribing to hustle culture right.

Speaker 1:

Well, part of that is learning how you are receiving and how to tell if you actually are receiving, because the other side of doing is receiving right the masculine and the feminine, you can call it a lot of different things but do you know how well you receive right? You can't get what you want if you're not open to it. So we're going to go over some questions that I want you to ask yourself that are going to be a really good indicator to tell you, to let yourself know how well you're open to receiving, so that you can shift and change and pivot if you need to, and open yourself up to even more that the universe wants for you. Welcome to Tried and True with the Dash of Wu, where we're all about mixing tried and true strategies that actually work with the magic of manifestation and the science of programming your unconscious mind so that you walk away feeling integrated, inspired and aligned. Thanks for joining me and get ready to be inspired. Welcome back to another episode of Tried and True with the Dash of Woo. I am your host, renee Bowen. Thank you again for joining me here Today.

Speaker 1:

We're going into this topic of receiving because a lot of us are really good at the doing. If you know a lot about human design and if you're a generator or a manifesting generator, you know that you're really good at the doing part. I'm a generator and I'm always talking about that. How, if there was an award for doing the most, I would win every day, every day, all day, because I am really good at doing. I'm really good at living in that energetic space, like most generators, before we learn about our energy types and our human designs. I absolutely did too many things that didn't light me up. I said yes to too many things that I didn't really want to be doing. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about, just in general, being really good at doing a lot of things and getting a lot of things done and taking the action that we need to take in our business.

Speaker 1:

But there's this other side of that coin that is really, really important, because you can't receive what the universe wants for you. You can't receive what you want for yourself if you are not open to it. I'm going to go over a really quick little assessment in just a second. That'll help you see how well you're actually receiving in your life. I think it's going to be pretty eye-opening for some of you. Okay, you ready. You don't really need anything other than just a little bit of your attention focused right here for a second. You don't have to close your eyes or anything like that. I want you to just picture yourself for a minute.

Speaker 1:

You and I we're hanging out, we're friends, we are hanging out and we are at a restaurant. It's a really nice restaurant. It's not super upscale, but it's not like a counter restaurant where you go up to the counter in order. It's like you know where people come to your table and we're having a really nice lunch. It's a beautiful day. We're sitting outside you know we do that a lot here in California, even at this time of year. It's a beautiful, sunny California day. You and I are doing lunch and as we sit there, someone comes over who knows me, okay and they come over, they see me and they're like oh my gosh, so good to see you, et cetera.

Speaker 1:

And I introduce you and I go into the introduction just like you normally would. I introduce who you are, what you do, and then I start to tell this person how amazing you are, and I'm talking about how you are just such a phenomenal photographer or artist and that your work is just so beautiful and your clients love everything that you do and your business is thriving. And you were just like. I am just gushing about you right in front of you to this person. I want you to sit with that for a second and imagine that that is actually happening right now and tell me, or at least think about in your mind what is happening inside your body when that happens.

Speaker 1:

Is there any constriction in any part of your body? Does it feel uncomfortable? What is your first reaction to me? Do you immediately wave it off and be like, oh stop, no, no, no. Do you blush? Do you just all the blood like rushed to your face and your head and do you get lightheaded? Or do you feel like you need to get up and go to the bathroom because you can't stick around for that? Do you feel embarrassed? Do you feel any sort of like tightness or closing off sort of energetic anything going on in your body? And I want you to be really honest with yourself and kind of sit with it for a second and think about when was the last time someone gave you a compliment, told you how awesome you are? Or maybe it was a client leaving the session saying how amazing it was, or maybe it was out of the blue. Just think about the last time someone gave you a compliment and what actually happened in your body and how you truly handled receiving that compliment, because that right there is a really good indicator of how open you are to receiving everything in your life, including money. Let that sort of sink in for a second and just try your best to integrate that into your body.

Speaker 1:

Most of us were told from a very young age to be humble and to not gloat, and when people gave us compliments, we were told to be kind about it and to not make a big deal about it and to certainly not think that we deserve it right, because that would seem not polite. It would seem that we are, you know, full of ourselves, and I don't know about you, but I definitely heard a lot of that growing up. It's very rare that we teach our kids to truly stand in the awesomeness of someone telling you how great you are and allowing that to fill you up and to make you feel truly good. Right, we're told to brush it off. We're told to play it down. We're not told to stand in it and be like, yeah, that's totally true, I am as awesome as you think I am and I totally get it. We want to raise polite kids. We don't want them to walk around. You know, narcissistic, but I think that we've done a disservice to each other, to our kids. I think that you know we've been basically programmed with this sort of just, stay small, stay quiet. Don't make a big deal out of that, really. You know, be humble, don't go out there talking about how great you are, etc.

Speaker 1:

You can also do this little experiment. If you envision what it feels like when someone gives you a gift. Okay, out of the blue, let's just imagine I walked up to you and we met for coffee, and, out of the blue, it wasn't your birthday or the holidays or anything, and I just handed you a gift and said this is just for you. I saw this, you know, when I was shopping. It reminded me of you and I just want you to know how special you are to me and I was, you know, very heartfelt in that. You know I wanted you to have this gift.

Speaker 1:

How does that make you feel? Do you feel uncomfortable? Does it cause constriction in your body? Is there any sort of closing off feeling, basically, when you're given a gift? So a lot of this is all related to our worthiness, okay, and you know it's one of our baselines as humans where we have issues with feeling worthy. Most of the people that I work with inside of coaching have some level of that, some bigger than others. Okay, but we as humans tend to equate this feeling unworthy, to feeling undeserving of money, and that obviously leads to all kinds of problems if you own a business, because then you don't stand in your confidence when you're creating your pricing, you obviously don't charge enough, you're not running a viable business and you run yourself into the ground and it's really all because you have this issue with receiving.

Speaker 1:

Another sort of cause for this is not necessarily. Maybe you didn't have that sort of upbringing, right. Maybe you did have parents who told you how awesome you were and they wanted you to feel that and really live that. But maybe you hang out with people in your life or you surround yourself with people who have a lot of lack mentality right, there's never enough. Or it's always the glass half empty instead of the glass half full. Or maybe there's just a lot of you know Debbie Downers in your life and if you are an empathic person, you will subconsciously try to match that energy to create rapport with those people so that you can feel accepted and part of the group.

Speaker 1:

And then also, if you are living in a constant state of, you know, unregulation, dysregulation, being unregulated, not having a regulated nervous system, basically, and living in fight or flight, right, that's going to be a very, very big factor in keeping you closed off from that energy of receiving, because you literally cannot be open to receive anything when you are in fight, flight or freeze or even fawn right. Those are the responses that we have to stress. And so if you're living on the edge and your body is, you know, coursing with adrenaline and all these other chemicals that are going to bring the blood from your brain to your limbs to make you faster but in turn make you more dumb because all the blood is leaving your brain, then how are you actually going to be in a place of receiving? You literally can't. So that's the other part of it, too is that you cannot really be in that place of being open and being ready to receive what the universe has for you If you're constantly trying to, you know, stave off danger or perceived danger, or allowing your unconscious to continuously believe that you are in danger when in fact you aren't.

Speaker 1:

So this first step is really about noticing and being self aware enough to know when you are closed off to receiving, because a lot of you guys are living unconsciously, hypnotically, going about your day, just you know, going through the motions, basically right, and you're not even paying attention to the fact that you aren't even open, like you might be telling the universe what you want, and maybe this is why you're not getting these. You know, quote unquote manifestations that you've been trying to work on is because you are telling the universe what you want. But your actions, your body, your energetic imprint, your resonance is sending a completely different signal to the universe. It's sending that signal of I am terrified of this, I don't feel worthy of this. There's constriction in my body, my energy is constricted, I am not open, and if you're not open, you're not going to be able to get that signal back. So, whatever you're admitting, whatever that that radio signal beacon is that you were admitting is the energetic resonance of what you're going to get back. So you have to be very intentional about what that is. So this first step is all about you noticing. So that's why I'm asking you these questions and I'm letting you know some of the ways that you can tell if you are actually in receiving mode or not.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so then, once you kind of have a good gauge on how well you receive and, honestly, this could change depending on a season of your life. It could change if you're a woman, depending on the time of the month. Okay, don't forget y'all that these hormone surges that we have is kind of a big deal, right? So the week before your period starts, you're probably going to be a little bit more angsty, maybe in fight or flight, things like that. These are things that we have to be paying attention to. So, just in general, though, I want you to do a good assessment on just in general, right, approximately, how well do you receive? So let's say that you have decided or, you know, found out in this process that, yeah, you've got some work to do. Let's talk about some strategies that you can implement right now very easily that are going to change that imprint, that change that resonance that you are admitting, so that you can get more in line with that energetic frequency that you desire to be putting out, so that you can get it back.

Speaker 1:

I really do think the main factor in a lot of this is going to be a calm, nervous system, and that could look different for you than it looks for me. Right, and only you really know the answer to that. But when you are in a rest and digest state and you're not in the fight or flight state, you are going to just be, in general, more open, right, but it is about a certain level of vulnerability and to a lot of us, that's absolutely terrifying because of programming and traumas and things like that that have happened in our lives. So that could be something else that is coloring this your ability to, to, to receive, to be open and to do this kind of work. So I definitely think that that is is part of it. But having this calm nervous system, okay, what does that look like for you? This could look very different for you than it does for me, but I am going to tell you that one of the main ways, the fastest ways it's kind of like a a mainline vein to the to the universe is meditation, and I know a lot of you guys are very not into it. You're not, you're averse to wanting to meditate for lots of reasons, but I would love for you to open up the possibility that this could be an incredible pathway to this higher level of consciousness, to being more open, to all kinds of of really amazing things in opening up for you and your life, and one of them being it's going to create a really nice calm nervous system for you to build upon.

Speaker 1:

I also think that hypnosis is a fantastic way to really just kind of reprogram that, that script that your unconscious mind might be running about receiving and about your ability and willingness to receive right and worthiness. So doing a lot of that work is really important, as well as inner child work. I always kind of talk about how our unconscious mind is really just like the seven year old or six year old version of ourselves now. So doing some inner child work can be extremely healing for all kinds of traumas, for all kinds of issues. But in general it's going to help you get to the other side of this fight or flight right. And some of you might find that this is very difficult work to do, so I totally get it. It's really good to do this kind of work with someone, whether it's a therapist or a coach or anyone in your life who can help you navigate that and help you feel more safe while you're doing it. Because if your nervous system is in constant fight or flight while you're trying to do this work, that's also an indication that there is a lot of trauma there. So you may need a little bit extra facilitation in that area.

Speaker 1:

But in general, inner child work can be extremely healing, and it could look just like you journaling to that version of yourself or allowing yourself to kind of sit with it for a minute and just thinking about what did I used to love doing as a kid, what were the things that lit me up, what made me feel creative when I was a kid. You know that little version of myself. How did she or he feel on a daily basis? Did she feel taken care of? All of these things Like?

Speaker 1:

Allow yourself to just sort of explore that little version of yourself, because inside your unconscious mind, where that fear right, that gripping sort of like fear of new things and possibilities lies, is really at the heart of it. Just a little version of you who's been programmed with some stuff that is really scary, and so your unconscious is just trying to keep you safe from it and keep you alive. It's, its only job is to keep you alive, and so if you continuously let that happen, then you're not ever going to grow past that. That's why we always say, if you want to grow, it's going to be uncomfortable, because you have to kind of put yourself your conscious, consciously, you have to put yourself into this position of feeling vulnerable, feeling uncomfortable and possibly a little unsafe. And that's why I say you have to gauge this for yourself, right? If it is a big trauma, if there's a lot of things going on in your past that were truly, really unsafe, then you're going to need some help facilitating that.

Speaker 1:

But most of us can do this kind of work ourselves. Most of us can journal about it. Most of us can explore all of those inner workings of it and allow ourselves to heal that inner child of inside of us. That can also look like allowing yourself to play. So think about this for a second. Okay, just stay with me here for a minute.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I am one of those people who, when I feel, when I feel really overwhelmed and I feel my energy is constricted and I might be really stressed or whatever it might, or maybe there's money stress, whatever. Right, because no matter where we are on these journeys personal development journeys there there's always going to be times where we go through these, these moments. So when we, when I find myself in one of those moments, I know the first thing I need to do, the best thing that I can do, to allow myself, to be open and to receive and to you know, let go is to actually put myself in a place of play and fun, because the energy of play is that higher frequency that we are desiring and it it's really a fast track to, you know, getting to that sort of like next level of enlightenment, whatever you want to call it, when we think about our energy okay, on an energetic scale, there are. That's why we say low vibe, high vibe, and you can tell, you know, you can walk into a room and feel if the energetic vibe is low or high. That's why sometimes you walk into a room and you can't explain it but you're like I got to get out of here. That is your higher self and your intuition, really, really tuning in to that energetic sequence, and also it's because you are vibrating at a higher level and so it feels very uncomfortable.

Speaker 1:

So, playing upon that right, that energy of fun and play, it's expansive. Think about it. Think about the freedom that you feel when you're doing something just for fun. Think about something that you love to do, whether it be dance classes or tennis lessons, or going for a walk, or going out on the town with your significant other having a nice dinner, all of those things that we do when we're at play, at rest, for leisure. You know that energy, that that is present when we're doing that is expansive, it's open, it's releasing energy and when we are in that state we are in flow. Okay, so when we're we're in flow, think about it as like being in the stream. I always say, just kind of step into the stream, imagine yourself, imagine yourself on a nice moving stream and you're just kind of like dipping in and it just takes you right. It's not rushing rapids and terrifying, it's nice gentle following energy. So we're in flow. Like that, we're going to be so much more open to receiving everything that is good that we want in life, that we have told the universe that we desire, and we can't really receive it if we're constantly in work mode and then we're constantly doing and we're constantly forcing the energy because we're not having fun.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now, sometimes work can be fun. I will say that when you are doing something that you absolutely love, you're going to feel lit up by it and you're going to want to keep doing it. But I'm talking about cracking the whip on yourself. I'm talking about you know how we usually fall into this habit of being very, very strict with ourselves, you know, like and really really heavy with our thoughts. So it's estimated that we have about 60,000 thoughts a day and that about 80% of them are negative, which is awful, and I think that for some people that number is probably even higher. Right, because then you start thinking about any kind of neurodiversity you might have, or mental health issues, or past traumas or anything like that. Your negative thoughts could be really, really running the show.

Speaker 1:

And so if your negative thoughts are running the show and you're, you know, cracking the whip on yourself and you know you're, you're not really having any fun at the work that you're doing anymore and you just be bitter and frustrated and angry, that is literally the anti receiving mode. That is not a place where you're going to feel expansive and free. So one of the things that I highly suggest that you do if you know you were in that place, one of the things that I love to do when I'm feeling that I'm either going to log off, shut the computer down you know slams the laptop shut and I'm going to go and I'm going to do something literally just for me and just for fun, or something relaxing like a massage. So yeah, if I'm having a lot of stress or overwhelm and all of that. I'm going to go and schedule a massage because that is the ultimate way that you can literally somatically open up your body to receiving mode.

Speaker 1:

So some of us need body work to get that done, and I know a lot of people feel like massage is a luxury. For me, it's a necessity. Honestly, I can say that with like 100% accuracy, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that I was a massage therapist for a long time, right? So in my early 20s I went to massage therapy school and you want to talk about getting through some stuff in a short amount of time, because when you're in a massage department, because when you are getting practiced on right, we would practice on each other, we would learn these techniques and then we would practice on each other every single day. So I was getting massaged every single day for months as I was going through this certification program and I basically, in general, I like to think of myself as a pretty together person, even in my early 20s, and I don't love like.

Speaker 1:

My baseline is definitely not being vulnerable, right? Even though I know that is the state that you know I should probably be in. It's not. It's not something that is my go to. However, when I was in massage school, it was almost like it was really impossible for me to not be vulnerable, because I was constantly having my body worked on and we hold a lot of trauma in our body. We hold a lot of emotions in our body. There is a huge mind body connection. You don't believe me? Try going to get a massage every single day for like four months. You will be a pool of tears at the end of it because all that stuff that you've been trying to hold in and protect yourself with it has nowhere to go. It has nowhere to go without.

Speaker 1:

And so I didn't I. It was something that I didn't expect. I was really young, I didn't understand that that was going to happen, but it was absolutely the best thing that I could have done for myself at that time of life in my life. It was, um, it created huge change, huge change in my life. Honestly, it was the best, the best gift that I ever got, and I realized that.

Speaker 1:

Let's just say that you know you're in a state of feeling stress about money, so I realized that you know the idea of going and spending money on yourself and getting a massage or spending money on a nice dinner or on a night out or something like that might seem, you know, counterproductive to your efforts if you are stressed about money. But I don't believe that at all. I am completely, I am in disagreement with that state, because if you allow yourself to continue to feel constricted and not enough and in lack, you are going to stay in that state. You're allowing your unconscious to win. You're allowing it to win. Yeah, there are things you can do that don't cost you money. And if that is something that is going to, you know, bring you to that higher state and it doesn't cost you money, do it If you can figure out how to move your body. Just have a dance party in your living room with your significant other. Sometimes that is literally what my husband and I do. Like if we are stressed and it's just been a really, you know um overwhelming time period, or we're stressed about money or whatever, we'll just do a dance party in the living room because we're going to have fun.

Speaker 1:

We are going to figure out a way to change that state, change that energy. What is the resonance that we're putting out? What do we want to get back, if we want to be in a place of receiving, then we know that we have to lift our energetic resonance to match that, so that the universe can send it right back to us and so that we can be open enough to even allow it inside, so it doesn't have to cost you money and it, you know it doesn't have to break your bank. I'm not, I'm not trying to tell you, you know, if you're having actual money, stress to go out and spend more money. However, I will say that the other thing that I like to do when I'm feeling particularly restrictive or restricted about money is I like to give something away immediately, immediately. So that could look like me just getting on Venmo and sending one of my good friends a $5 coffee, a $7 coffee with inflation now, but you get the idea right. I mean, I'm going to immediately put myself in a place of abundance and a place of giving and a place of expansion, instead of allowing myself to stay in a state of restriction.

Speaker 1:

Something else you can do that is free, that you will need a partner for. So, if you don't have a significant other, maybe you have a really good friend, or maybe you can have a coach, somebody that you can do this with anybody in your life who is open to it, so you guys can sit down and do a tell me five good things about me, right, and really practice being present with someone in your life that you care about, telling you five awesome things about yourself and really letting it sink in and letting it integrate into your body so that you get, you know, repetitive about accepting that right. So you kind of desensitize yourself to the compliment, to the praise, and maybe this is something that you guys do on a running basis. So maybe if you have a group of good friends, like I do, we like to do a monthly dinner and so maybe you add that to your monthly agenda, like when you go out to dinner with friends and you're having a good time, so you're in receiving mode anyway and you're in flow. But maybe there's a part of the evening where you each go around and you say you know one to three good things about each person at the table and what you're grateful for about that person. Or maybe you just do this at home at dinnertime with your family. It's a phenomenal thing to introduce to your kids at a really young age.

Speaker 1:

However you want to do it, however you want to implement these things, the important thing is that you realize that the energetic imprint and frequency of play, of fun, of letting go, is the expansion that you're seeking when you're feeling restricted. It is the antithesis of that right. So it just starts with everything else. Like I'm always talking about right, the first thing you need to do is be aware of what's going on, right. So all those negative thoughts that we have on the daily, we can't necessarily control all of those because a lot of them are just automatic right, automatic thoughts, automatic negative thoughts, automatic positive thoughts. They just happen. However, we can become aware and intentional with the thoughts that we allow to stick around, and so that's.

Speaker 1:

The same idea here is that you want to be, you want to have awareness of when you're feeling restricted and you want to have awareness of catching that in the moment, so that you can shift it, so that you can go immediately from a place of ooh, that feels really odd or weird to get this compliment, to say that's interesting. That's an interesting way to feel about a compliment, and it's not about judging yourself. I don't want you to beat yourself over the head of with it. Like you know, don't punish yourself. It's not what this is about. It's about being neutral, becoming that neutral observer of when you are doing things that are not in alignment with where you want to go, with who you want to be. Okay, so if you're having these thoughts and they're coming in and they're popping in and you're realizing that it's happening, okay.

Speaker 1:

It's not about you judging yourself and saying, oh my God, I'm such an idiot for having that thought, or I'm such an idiot for allowing the restriction to be present. Why can't I just be better? No, that is. That's allowing more negativity to build upon itself and more restriction and constriction as a result. What you can do instead is to stop and become that neutral observer. Look at it from a black and white camera, a security camera. Lift yourself up above it. You know above the ground. Float above it. Look at it from an eagle eye point of view. It'll help you get a different perspective that isn't so charged emotionally, so you don't feel so close to it, because when the emotion isn't so charged, you are able to step into more of this neutral observer and then you can take some steps to reframe it. And that's what having, you know, a calm nervous system is going to do for you is. It is going to allow you to become that neutral observer in your life, so that you aren't constantly working from this fight or flight and constantly finding yourself in a place of of constriction.

Speaker 1:

So I hope this was helpful. I really want you guys to just think about things differently. You know you might have heard this in a different way, or maybe you've heard about this concept before from other people, but now it was the right time for you to hear it today. Maybe today was the day you needed to hear it, and maybe today was the day you really got it. I'm a big believer that we we are going to get exactly what we need when we need it. Our timing is perfect, your timing is perfect. Everything is happening exactly as it should. Okay, so trust that process and trust that if this resonated with you today, then it was something that it was ready to be integrated. You were ready to receive it. So congrats on receiving it, and I would love to hear your takeaways on this content.

Speaker 1:

You know, obviously, whether it's helpful for you or not, but also you know how you're implementing some of these changes or implementing some of these techniques that I mentioned, because the goal here is that when we are working from this place of a calm nervous system and we're in a place of openness and receiving and flow, that is when opportunities find us. That is when we really are just at the right place at the right time, right. These kind of things happen to me all the time, all the time, and to my husband, and it's really, really cool. I love when these things happen, when you, you know, just find yourself sitting right next to the person that you've been searching online to talk to at a conference. Maybe you are, you know, you go to a conference. This happens to me a lot.

Speaker 1:

I go to a conference and there's like a certain speaker that I just really definitely want to connect with. Okay, instead of chasing that person, I just allow myself to be, I allow myself to be in an open state and a flow state and literally nine times out of 10, I am going to find myself next to that person in the room at the right time. It's all happening. It's all happening at the same time. It's all happening, you know, for your highest good, but we need to trust that it is and to trust you got to be in that energy. You got to be in that energetic place of receiving and flow. So the more you are in that, the more all of these opportunities will just come to you. Your clients will find you, people will start talking about you, you will get more work, you will make more money, you will build your business.

Speaker 1:

All of these things are side effects of being in flow and it all it really takes is you just deciding that you're going to be in flow instead of doing, doing, doing, forcing, forcing, forcing, trying to make things happen all the time. Yes, you definitely have to take action in your business, but inspired action, okay, things that actually make sense, not trying to force things to happen. You don't need to try and make things happen and force it. All you really, really have to do is open up to possibility, open up to the higher version of yourself, open up to joy, fun, love, laughter, laugh more in your life. That alone raises your vibration. All of these things make a huge difference. And the one thing that we can control because we can't control a lot in our lives we can control our state. We really can. I know that there are mental health issues and there's people who deal with all kinds of varying degrees of of issues. Okay, so, at the end of the day, if all you need to do to feel a little bit better is to laugh to, you know, connect with somebody. There's a lot of different ways you can do that. That doesn't cost you money, right? It could look like just tuning into one of your favorite comedians on Netflix, or, if you can't afford Netflix, you know YouTube, whatever. However, you find them for free.

Speaker 1:

One of my favorite hacks and I've talked about a lot is I have a few books that I really, really love on Audible. I'm an Audible fanatic because I don't have time to read a book, but I love to listen to book. I actually do have time to read, but I just don't make the time. Okay, let's be honest, but I love listening to books. I really do, especially when the author is reading it and they have a great voice, right. I love Jensen Cheryl's books. I have them all on Audible, and so she's one of the people that I know.

Speaker 1:

If I really need to pick me up, if I got to raise that vibration a little bit, if I got to get myself out of my head or whatever, I'm just going to like open up the book on Audible, just randomly pick a chapter, don't think about it, just literally pop into it and I just say, okay, whatever I need to hear today is about to be said, and I'm listening, and I can do that with podcasts as well. There's some podcasts that I like to use for that. You know people who consistently deliver really good information, and so sometimes I just like to to start with that question. Starting with the question at the beginning of your day, when you wake up, is such a better way, by the way, to start the day than oh my God, I have to do this or I have to do that, or even I get to do this. That's a better framing of that statement, but for me, I like to to position it as I wonder what I get to do today. I wonder what cool people I'm going to meet today. I wonder what message I need to hear is going to just pop in.

Speaker 1:

I wonder what miracles are going to show up for me today, because when you start your day with a question, you literally are like opening up to all the possibilities in our unconscious mind and our, our, our, our higher selves want, they want to answer it for us. It's going to help it show up, because the energy of a question is possibility. The energy of a question is flow and fun and play and all the stuff that we've been talking about. So let me ask you a question before we wrap up this episode what is one thing you can do today, right now, right after you listen to this podcast? What's one thing that you can do that's going to lift your vibration, put you in a flow state and put you into a receiving energy? What's one thing that you can do right now that isn't going to cost you a lot of money or any at all, that you can do right now. What's one thing about it? Just ask yourself that and then go do it.

Speaker 1:

Hit me up in the DMs over on Instagram at Renee Bowen and let me know I would love to hear it. I did create a channel for basically this podcast, but it's it's on my Instagram, but it really is more in line with kind of what I want to talk about on this podcast, and so I've been asking a lot of questions to the people who have subscribed to the channel about what kind of content that they want to hear, what kind of things we want to cover, and so that's a really good place for you to join me as well, but hit me up in the DMs and let me know. Hey, renee, this latest podcast on receiving and being in flow. Here's what I got from it. Or here's what I'm doing today. Here's what I did today. Here's what happened. I'd love, love, love to continue the conversations with you guys over there. And if you are a creative photographer any creative in general and you're looking to seriously up level your life and your business and you know that these kind of things are things that you want to work on as well as business strategy and marketing, get in touch with me.

Speaker 1:

About coaching, my one on one coaching prices are changing quite a bit for 2024. They're going up by about 50%. I love, love, love coaching, but I pour a lot of myself into it, so I am raising my prices and I do have a three month, six month and a 12 month option. So if you want to lock in some pricing before the end of the year, get in touch with me. I will have a conversation, we'll hop on a quick zoom call and to see if we're a good fit, if we're in alignment and that's why I call it an alignment call. I want to know, you know where you're at and if I can't help you I'm going to point you in a direction that I think would better serve you. But it's the best way for us to decide if we're a good fit to work together. So you can do that. I will link that in the show notes. It's basically Renee dot IO slash book a call and that's where my calendar lives and you can just grab a quick 30 minute zoom so we can chat.

Speaker 1:

And if you're a photographer but you either can't jump into coaching right now or you just need some ongoing support, I do have elevate. It is specifically for this reason. You get a ton inside of a $49 membership that I have made super affordable for you guys, and you do get coaching with that. So that's going to be linked in the show notes as well. If you want to have a conversation about that, hit me up in the DMs as well. I'd love to answer any questions that you have about elevate, and I hope you guys have a really awesome rest of your week.

Speaker 1:

I know that we are heading into a holiday season, so I'm going to be talking a little bit more about things that we can do during this season to really regroup and get ready for the energy of a new year, because I don't want you waiting until January hits right Until you, like, kind of slide into January all burnt out and and frazzled from a crazy season of being busy. Ok, if that's happening, first of all, we need to look and see if there's some things that we can implement so that that doesn't happen again next year. Ok, could be raising, prices could be taking fewer people, could be hiring, help could be you know all of that. We really need to be thinking about how to set you up to be a better version of yourself for 2024, because it is going to be here before you know it. I'm super excited about January, just as a little side note, because I get to have my higher level elevate.

Speaker 1:

People come into town, they're coming to LA and we're having a workshop at the end of January, so we're going to have a really fun time. We've got a couple of different air B&Bs, so we're staying together, we're hanging out, we've got a hot tub and fire pit and we're right there in LA so we can, you know, get to and from everything pretty quickly. We're going to have a dinner together. It's going to be more a retreat style because there's not a ton of us, which is really awesome, and I finally get to see a lot of these people in person. Some of them have been working with me for years inside of elevate, so there's two different levels of elevate. Basically, my forty nine dollar membership is just kind of ongoing, but these people that I'm talking about they're in elevate, all access, and they've been with me for, like I said, some of them for years, so they do get a higher touch point. We have a boxer thread and it's more like a mastermind style and it's really really cool. It's a great cohesive group.

Speaker 1:

I'm so excited to have them all here. We're going to have like a day of shooting and styled shoots and then we're also going to have just a day of learning and implementing. So that's coming up for me and I'm in planning mode for that. So that's really fun and I'm just really looking forward to the holidays. So let me know what you guys are looking forward to. I'd love to hear from you. So with that, I'm going to sign off and bid you a farewell. I hope you have a phenomenal rest of your day and a rest of your week and I will talk to you guys soon.
